Creative Projects

"Year 6 have been working hard on numerous creative projects. These include: animation, sculpture, song writing, drama and film making! The school has organised for the "Vision4Dreams" film crew to come into school over the next 4 weeks and work with the children to produce a documentary based on school life. Extracts from this film will be used as a part of the induction process for new pupils. The children have been involved in research, organising interviews, filming techniques and sound manipulation. They will be carrying out interviews with teaching staff, support staff and our lunchtime team during next week. We will keep you updated on these unique projects over the coming weeks!"

"A MEDIA production company that is growing from strength to strength is the latest nominee in this year's Warrington Guardian Business Awards. Vision4Dreams productions, based in Hawthorne Business Park, has been nominated in the start-up business category for this year's awards. And creative director Acacio Moreno said he spotted a gap in the media production market when setting up the business. He added: "A key breakthrough for the business was the realisation that providing video workshops for schools is a unique selling point. Coupling this with the writing of short scenarios which allow the exploration of topics such as bullying, the workshops offer children in schools and youth centres the opportunity to understand how a television programme is made".

Youngsters excluded from school due to behavioural problems have been involved in helping make a special anti-bullying video at Warrington's pioneering peace centre. Organised by the NSPCC based at the centre built as a living memorial to IRA bomb victims Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball, youngsters were given the opportunity of being involved in all aspects of making the film, as well as providing the subjects for the film into the technical side of producing the film. David Purcel, Centre Manager said: 'The peace centre provides a perfect venue and I would recommend any organisation working with young people to give it a try!'

It has provided a valuable experience for the youngsters who will have gained self esteem and team building skills as well as some technical knowledge'. The anti-bullying script and production work was provided by local media production company Vision4dreams.

Documentary will convey what youngsters really want for area.
Young people have embarked on a filmmaking course to help express what they want to see happen in Birchwood. They hope by putting together a documentary about what facilities the area has and hasn’t got, will make Warrington’s powerbrokers sit up and take notice. ‘It’s a way of giving young people a voice and making sure that it is heard and action can happen from that’ said Pam Rose, director of Birchwood YMCA, which is organising the Three Wishes for Birchwood campaign.

The main idea to come out of one the workshops run by the filmmaker company Vision4dreams at Birchwood Youth centre was to improve the local skate park.
